Melody + Meaningful Lyrics = Great Song

I think it's just me but when I listen to a song, I like to know what lyrics are put to it.
I'm a HUGE fan of sappy love songs ;) but sometimes it's nice to hear songs that spread messages of peace and love, without it having to be a cheesy church song. And I personally think that U2 and Nickelback are 2 of the best examples (which is why I'm such a big fan of both!).

And so we're told this is the golden age

And gold is the reason for the wars we wage
Though I want to be with you
Be with you night and day
Nothing changes
On New Year's Day
On New Year's Day
("New Year's Day" by U2)

And it's true we are immune
When fact is fiction and TV reality
And today the millions cry
We eat and drink while tomorrow they die
("Sunday, Bloody Sunday" by U2)

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
We'd see the day when nobody died

And I'm singing

Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, I'm alive
("If Everyone Cared" by Nickelback)

Amen to that!
